A Specialist Radiotherapy Facility in Limerick
Since 2005, the Mid-Western Radiation Oncology Centre has been providing expert radiotherapy care for patients across the Mid-West region. Located on the grounds of University Hospital Limerick and operated by the Mater Private Network, the centre is the only specialist radiotherapy facility in Limerick.
Local Access to World-Class Treatment
The centre delivers a comprehensive range of advanced radiotherapy treatments, supported by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing personalised, high-quality care. Working closely with the wider cancer services team at University Hospital Limerick, the centre ensures that all radiotherapy patients in the region have local access to world-class treatment.
An Active Radiotherapy Research Unit
The Mid-Western Radiation Oncology Centre also has an active radiotherapy research unit, committed to bringing the latest innovations in cancer care to patients in the region. In 2024, the team recruited patients to the international PACE Nodes trial, and continues to open new clinical studies to increase opportunities for patients in Limerick to participate in high-quality radiotherapy research.
